Turn off the water going into the home. This will keep water from spraying and causing water damage or a mess. Put all of your tools together and within reach.

2
Remove the knobs held by screws, using the Phillips and flat-head screwdrivers. If the knobs have screws holding them, find where the screws are. They might be hidden. Use your Phillips-head screwdriver and take out the screws, turning to the left. Pull the knobs toward you to pull them off.

Loosen any screws that will not come loose with your handle puller. Place the arms of the handle puller behind the shower knob and the screw in the center of the handle puller is pushed into the screw in the knob. Turn the puller slowly and it will remove the shower knob.

Use the other tools if screwdrivers and the handle puller do not work. Try the external pipe wrench. This tool works by getting into small places that the other tools cannot. Turn the crossbar, away from the wall. This should get the shower knob off.
