How to Make a Video in Metacafe

Metacafe features some of the most popular videos on the Internet. Anyone can put their videos on Metacafe's website. If you have a video that you would like to share, you can put it on Metacafe for everyone to see. Making a video on Metacafe involves uploading your own video and setting up a title and description so it's easy to find.

Instructions

1. Create a Metacafe account. Enter your email address, date of birth, gender and region into the registration form. Choose a descriptive nickname and a memorable password. If you've already created an account on Metacafe, sign into your account. You can find a link to Metacafe registration in the Resources section.

2. Click the blue Upload button at the top right of the Metacafe website. Click "Choose a Video to Upload."

3. Navigate to where your video is stored on your computer. Click the file name and click "Open" to start uploading the file. This may take a while, depending on the size of the file. You can see the progress of your upload in the progress bar on the screen.

4. Fill out information for your video. Choose an interesting and descriptive name for your video and enter it in the "Title" box. Under "Description," describe what's going on in the video. In the "Tags" text box, add any keywords that describe the video. A video of your cat meowing could have tags such as "cat," "meow" and "kitty." Choose the category for your video and whether you want only people over 18 years of age to see the result. Click "Save Video Details" when all fields have been filled in.

5. Use the resulting Video URL to send to your friends so they can access your video. If you want to embed the video in a blog post, copy the code in the "Embed Code" box and paste it into the source code of your blog. Your video is now on Metacafe for everyone to see.

Tips & Warnings

• Read Metacafe's rules for video creation before uploading a video. For instance, they do not allow pornography or copyrighted material.

• Video files must be under 2GB in size to be uploaded to Metacafe.
