How Do You Add a New Font to Word 2007?

Microsoft Word 2007 comes with a variety of fonts that are pre-installed. These fonts include Verdana, Courier New, Times New Roman and more. If you are interested in different fonts--maybe something mysterious, edgy or futuristic, you can download and install your favorite fonts quickly and easily. There are many websites that enable you to download and install free fonts.

      Locate the fonts that you want to install. Sites such as 1001freefonts.com, urbanfonts.com or daft.com enable you to download free fonts. To download a font from these websites, select the font that you want and follow the prompts to download and save them to your computer.

      Click the Windows "Start" button after downloading the fonts that you want to use, click the "Control Panel" and then click "Appearance and Personalization."

      Click "Fonts" and click the "File" menu. Press "Alt" if you do not see the file menu. Select the drive that you download the fonts to under "Drives" in the "Add Fonts" dialog box. Select the folder that you saved the fonts to under "Folders." You should see a list of the fonts that you downloaded. Click the font that you want to install, and then click "Install." If you want to install additional fonts, simply click them, and then click "Install." When the process completes, close the "Fonts" dialog box.

      Click the Windows "Start" button, select "All Programs," or "Programs" and select "Microsoft Word 2007" to launch the program. Click the font box on the top. Scroll through and select one of the fonts that you installed.
