Instructions

      Place the machete on a flat surface and hold it down with one hand. The handle should rest on the surface while the blade extends past the edge. If you wish to keep the machete steady and have both hands free, secure the knife in a vise.

      Place the file against the edge of the blade, at about a 45-degree angle.

      Move the file back and forth against the blade to make it sharp, keeping the file at a 45-degree angle. Repeat this motion down the length of the blade.

      Turn the machete over and file the other side of the blade.
