How to Check RAM Performance

A user may be surprised about where their memory is being allocated. Internet Explorer and Firefox utilize memory just by having their window open; the more windows open, the more memory being used. Clicking through the internet will kill more of your memory resources. Everything that is up and running requires at least some of your computer's RAM. Checking the performance of the RAM can help to determine what applications should not be rum simultaneously.

      Press "Ctrl" + "Alt" + Del" simultaneously.

      Select the "Start Task Manager" option.

      Click the "Performance" tab. You can view the physical memory usage history here.

      Click the "Resource Manager..." button for more details. Memory is displayed in the chart located to the far right.

      Click the "Memory" down arrow to display a detailed description of where your memory is being used.
