How to Troubleshoot an HP Photosmart 7350

Print cartridges are usually the source of print quality issues.

Hewlett Packard's Photosmart 7350 allows users to print photographs almost instantly in their own home or office. While the Photosmart 7350 offers convenience for anyone needing to print photos quickly, problems with the print quality of the photos can come up. There are a few simple steps to follow to resolve any such print quality problems.

Instructions

1. Load fresh paper into the paper tray of the Photosmart 7350. Press the "Menu" button on the display screen on the printer. On the menu, press the down arrow button until the option to print a diagnostic page is selected.

2. Examine the diagnostic page for print quality issues. If bars are missing on the page, the print cartridges are malfunctioning. The same is true if some colors are missing.

3. Select the "Tools" button by the display screen on the Photosmart 7350 until the option to clean the print cartridges is selected. The printer will clean the print cartridges itself.

4. Align the printer. On your computer's taskbar, click on the printer icon. Select "Properties," "Toolbox," and "HP Photosmart" series toolbox. Select the "Device services" tab, calibrate the printer, and align. Print another test page to analyze.

5. Replace the current print cartridges if the test page is still coming out with missing bars or other problems. If the problem continues, have the printer serviced.

Tips & Warnings

• Never force a print cartridge out of or into the printer. Make sure the print cartridges audibly click back into place before using the printer again.
