Avoid shirts that have labels saying they were made in China or Taiwan. Authentic Diesel merchandise is made in Morocco, Tunisia or Romania.

    • 2

Look at the tag. Authentic Diesel products have a small stitch at the bottom of the tag that spells out "Diesel." When looking with the naked eye, it looks like nothing more than a silver stitch, but when you look with a magnifying glass, you'll see that the micro-stitch cleverly contains the word "Diesel." The fakes will have only the silver thread.

Walk away. If a Diesel shirt is selling for half of the usual retail price, it's probably a fake. Things that appear to good to be true usually are, and Diesel rarely offers significant discounts on its clothing.

Contact Diesel's customer-service department to see if they can assist you in identifying genuine merchandise. At the very least, they'll be able to point you to a reputable Diesel retailer.
