Diesel is a popular clothing brand that, like other desirable merchandise, has begun to inspire counterfeits. There are several ways you can spot a real Diesel shirt from the fakes. Avoid shirts that have labels saying they were made in China or Taiwan. Authentic Diesel merchandise is made in Morocco, Tunisia or Romania.

Look at the tag. Authentic Diesel products have a small stitch at the bottom of the tag that spells out "Diesel." When looking with the naked eye, it looks like nothing more than a silver stitch, but when you look with a magnifying glass, you'll see that the micro-stitch cleverly contains the word "Diesel." The fakes will have only the silver thread.

Walk away. If a Diesel shirt is selling for half of the usual retail price, it's probably a fake. Things that appear to good to be true usually are, and Diesel rarely offers significant discounts on its clothing.

Contact Diesel's customer-service department to see if they can assist you in identifying genuine merchandise. At the very least, they'll be able to point you to a reputable Diesel retailer.
