Outlook Express offers users the option of adding stationery to their outgoing mail messages. The stationery is used to add personal touches, such as pictures, quotations or a color scheme. Outlook Express comes with pre-installed stationery and also allows you the option to create and save your own custom stationery. Creating your custom stationery is simplified with the Outlook Express Stationery Wizard.

      Open Outlook Express by double-clicking on the desktop icon or by going to "Start," then "Programs" and locating Outlook Express.

      Allow the program to load completely. Click on the arrow next to the "Create Mail" icon. Select the option "Select Stationery." This will bring up a list of currently saved stationery. Click "Create new" on the bottom, right-hand side of the box. This will bring up the Stationery Wizard.

      Click "Next" to bypass the Stationery Wizard welcome screen. Complete the "Background" options of your new stationery by selecting a picture and color. Click "Next."

      Choose the font for your new stationery and click "Next." Now you will be prompted to choose your margins. Do so, and then click "Next."

      Enter a name for your newly created stationery and click "Finish." The new stationery will default into the "Select Stationery" box. Click "OK" and your new stationery will be applied to your new message.
