Instructions for Bottle Cap Jewelry
Recycling goods into wearable jewelry is a way to profess to the world that you are environmentally responsible. Transform old bottle caps into pendants and necklaces for your friends and family to wear. Using different colors and themes, make a bottle cap pendant to wear with any of your fashion choices. 1
Place a bottle cap on a hard surface, such as a piece of scrap wood or on a porch, with the printed side facing down. Place the nail tip in between the flat part of the bottle cap and the ridges, designating the top of the pendant. Hit the nail with the hammer until the nail punctures through the other side of the bottle cap.

2
Pull the nail out of the bottle cap. Flip the bottle cap over. Choose a color for the back of the pendant. Paint the back with two coats of acrylic paint in the color you chose. Allow the back of the bottle cap to dry.

3
Flip the bottle cap over once the paint is no longer tacky to the touch. Paint the front of the bottle cap with two coats also. Add polka dots, stripes or an initial in a complementary color to personalize the pendant. Allow the paint to dry.

4
Spray the front of the bottle cap with a clear acrylic spray to seal the paint from chips or scratches. Flip the bottle cap over and spray the back once dry.
-
5
Attach a jump ring to the hole in the bottle cap pendant. Place the pendant on a chain or a piece of ribbon.
