How to Setup a Motorola DSL Modem

Set up your Motorola DSL modem.

When you order DSL service, you may receive a Motorola DSL modem that you will need to set up in order to access the Internet. If this is the case, you can perform this setup in just a few minutes and be able to get online and surf the Web.

Instructions

1. Plug the modem in to a power source and attach the phone cable from the modem to a phone jack in your home that is wired for DSL.

2. Connect the Ethernet cable from the back of the modem to the network card on your computer.

3. Open a Web browser on your computer and go to "http://192.168.1.254". Enter a password that will be used to protect your DSL modem and click the "Next" button.

4. Enter the user name "admin" and the password that you created and then click the "OK" button. Enter the DSL login information that you received from your Internet service provider and then click the "Connect" button. The DSL modem is now connected to the Internet.
