Keepsake Copy of a Marriage Certificate

If you need a copy of a marriage license for legal reasons, such as verifying your marriage for insurance purposes or changing your name on legal documents, the Bureau of Vital Statistics (see Resources) can provide copies of marriage records dating from June 6, 1927. If you're doing research for a family tree and the marriage took place before 1927, consult the Clerk of the Court at the county courthouse where the original marriage record was filed.
