How to Make a Ring With a Ring Form & Beads

Make a stylish beaded ring.

A ring form is a blank ring that is customizable. You can decorate a ring form with beads, charms and cabochons of any style to create your own one-of-a-kind ring. Making your own ring with a ring form and beads isn't very hard and you will only need a few inexpensive parts. If your ring form already has loops or holes on top, this will made embellishing it even easier. You can use virtually any kind of bead, but smaller beads that match in material and color are ideal.

• Ring form
• Head pins
• Beads
• Round nose pliers
• Wire cutters

Instructions

1. Plan out the color scheme of your ring so you will know how many beads to get and in what colors. If your ring form has eight loops on top, you will need to get at least eight beads so you can have one bead per loop. The more beads you add, the larger your ring will be. You will also need as many head pins as you have beads. Head pins are ideal for this project because you won't need to wrap the wire all the way around the beads. The head on the head pin keeps the bead from falling off.

2. Slip a bead onto a head pin. Grip the wire of the head pin with your round nose pliers at about five millimeters from the bead. Turn it 180 degrees to form a loop, but do not close the loop.

3. Feed the end of the head pin through one of the loops in the ring form. Use your round nose pliers to close the loop. Cut the excess wire off the end of the head pin with your wire cutters. Straighten the loop you created on the head pin if you need to, and make sure there is no gap in the loop so it will not fall off of the ring form.

4. Repeat steps two and three until you are satisfied with the design and until all of the loops have at least one bead on them.
