How to Burn PowerPoint

PowerPoint is a widely used Microsoft Office program used to create presentations, slideshows, graphics and much more. Microsoft operating systems come with built-in CD burning software that you can use to copy a PowerPoint file. This allows you to transfer your presentation to a different computer or make a backup copy of the PowerPoint file for future use.

Instructions

  1. Windows XP users

      Launch Microsoft PowerPoint. Create your presentation if you haven't created already. Save the file in a secured location on your hard drive. Note the location.

      Insert a blank disc in your CD/DVD ROM drive.

      Locate the PowerPoint file on your hard drive.

      Right-click on the file and point your cursor to "Send to..." Select the CD/DVD RW icon from the drop-down menu.

      Hit the "Start" button and go to "My Computer."

      Double-click on the CD/DVD drive icon. Locate the link "Write files to CD" on the left panel. Click on it. The burning process should start momentarily. Windows should eject out the disc automatically once the process is complete.

    Windows Vista (or above) users

      Insert the blank disc.

      Wait till you get a dialog box that represents your CD/DVD drive. Select "Burn files to data disc."

      Enter a name for the blank disc in the "Burn a disc" dialog box. Hit "Next." Windows should start formatting your disc now. When the process is complete, you should get a dialog box with an empty folder for your disc.

      Locate the PowerPoint file that you want to burn. Drag and drop this file on to the empty folder in Step 3.

      Wait till Windows finishes the burning process. The disc should eject out automatically once the process is complete.
