How to Determine Which Prepaid Cell Phone Company Is on a Phone
A prepaid cell phone is a good idea for many people, as you can talk without worrying about contracts, bills or going over your allotted minutes. In order to buy additional airtime for a prepaid cell phone, you need to know the service provider for that particular phone. Each cell phone provider has its own prepaid cards, and those cards aren't refundable, so you lose your money if you purchase one from the wrong company.

1
Power on the phone. Many phones will have the name of the provider appear on the screen at start up.
-
2
Look on the cell phone for the provider's logo. If there is no logo on the outside of the phone, slide off the battery cover and remove the battery. If the phone is on a Global System for Mobile Communications(GSM) network, it will have a Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) card under the battery. The SIM card will have the name of the cell phone provider.
