Instructions

    • 1

Put on all protective gear: eye protection, respirator, knee pads and gloves.

    • 2

Remove old wood trim with a crowbar. Pull out any nails with the hammer. Remove screws from wood trim with the cordless drill and screw bits.

    • 3

Cut off the end of old cove base molding and peel it off the wall. Apply an adhesive remover to get all the remaining glue or residue off of the wall.

    • 4

Unroll the cove base and, using a tape measure, measure the length of the wall area to be covered. Cut the cove base trim with the utility knife.

    • 5

Apply cove base glue to the wall area with a notched trowel.

    • 6

Press the cove base to the wall, a small section at a time. Use the plastic roller to press the cove base tight to the wall so it will bond properly with the glue.

    • 7

Cut small "v" sections of cove base trim when you come to any corners. Wrap the cove base around the corner and the "v" cut will allow it to bend around.

Tips & Warnings

  • Cove base trim comes in rolls of 25, 50, and 100 feet. You can also buy short pieces of cove base molding that are just straight and not in a roll form. The normal length for straight pieces of cove base is about 4 feet long.
