How to Polish Aluminum Goldwing Motorcycle Rims
You can always tell when spring has sprung in the Midwest and on the East Coast: motorcycles start appearing on the roadways. Before you take your Goldwing on your first ride of the warm season, make sure it's looking its best. You can easily and quickly get your aluminum rims to shine in the sun by polishing them. With just a few tools, your Goldwing's aluminum rims will be buffed, polished and brilliant.
Things You'll Need
- Soap
- Bucket
- Water
- Several lint-free cloths
- Buffing polish
- Clean cloth
- Toothbrush

Pour regular vehicle soap into a bucket (only a little bit is needed). Fill the bucket with hot water so the water becomes sudsy. Use a lint-free cloth to completely clean the wheel rims. You'll want to you make sure that all dirt, mud, oil and grime are completely removed before you polish the rims. Use a separate clean cloth to dry the rims.

Apply a small amount of buffing polish to your clean cloth. In a circular motion (both clockwise and counterclockwise), buff the polish onto the rims.

Apply the polish to a toothbrush. Use the toothbrush to polish and shine the hard-to-reach in-between areas of the rims.

Wipe and dry the rims off, using lint-free cloths. Use as many cloths as needed to completely remove the polish. Use a plain, dry towel to bring the rim to a brilliant shine.

Repeat Steps 2 through 4 if you desire the rims to be even shinier.
