How to Convert an SLR Camera Into a Digital
An SLR camera is a removable-lens-based film camera. You use a standard roll of film that you must process before seeing the images. Although you cannot directly convert the camera into a digital camera, you can convert the pictures it takes into a digital format. This allows you to take pictures and turn them into digital images while saving you money by not having to purchase a new digital camera.

1
Take the shot roll of film to a store to be developed, and ask for a picture CD to be returned to you once the images are developed. This instantly converts your analog images into digital.
-
2
Insert the CD into your computer, open "My Computer" (or "Computer") and double-click the CD icon. You can now click-and-drag your digital images onto your computer.

3
If you already have developed SLR pictures you want to convert to digital, place a photograph on your scanner.
-
4
Click "Start," "All Programs," "Accessories" and finally "Scanner and Camera Wizard." This loads a small program that allows you to scan content and import it into the computer.
-
5
Choose "Scan," then click "Scan" once more, and the SLR picture is scanned into the computer. Select "Save," then title the picture and choose a location to save the picture to on your computer. Click "Save" once more, and the image is saved as a digital file on your computer.
