Put on protective gloves.

Pour 1/4 cup of washing soda (also known as sodium carbonate or soda ash) into an empty bucket.

Add 1 gallon of water to your bucket. Adding the water with a sink spray hose will help to mix the water and washing soda.

Apply the mixture to the greasy item or part. Depending on the part, you may spray the mixture onto the greasy area, dip the part into the bucket or pour the mixture over the part.

Scrub the part with a scrub brush if necessary to remove all of the grease.

Rinse the degreaser away with clean water and allow the item to air dry.
