How to Change Your Character's Name on WOW

Once changed, your character's new name will be updated on the server usually within several hours.

Changing your character's name in World of Warcraft can be useful when you want to distinguish your character from dozens of other similarly-named characters, or if you feel your character's name doesn't match his persona. Fortunately, World of Warcraft offers a simple, paid name-change service.

Instructions

1. Access the World of Warcraft website and select "Paid Name Change" under "Paid Services," in the left-hand menu on the main page.

2. Log into your World of Warcraft account as prompted. You will be taken directly to the paid name-change service.

3. Note the conditions of the paid name-change service before you click "Continue." Your character's name will be changed on the server within several hours and you will not be able to revert to your previous name (without paying for the service again).

4. Select your realm name (server) on the realm selection screen and then click on the "Change Name" button next to your character.

5. Enter and confirm the new name of your character when prompted. Please note that you still must follow the World of Warcraft "Naming Policy."

6. Confirm your name by typing "I Agree" in the confirmation page text box and then enter your credit card information in the "Payment Information" page.

Tips & Warnings

• The paid name-change service applies to only one character on your account.
