  1. Find the Right Program

    • 1

Before you sign up for a Botox certification program, it is important to find the right one. Find a school that offers on-site training rather than online courses. Your on-site training should give you the opportunity to experience hands-on training with live patients. Many training courses offer a full weekend course or a single course offered on a Saturday. Make sure your Botox training is offered in a sterile environment like a medical facility, and not a hotel conference room.

Make sure you are qualified. Botox certification is only offered to physicians (MD or DO), nurse practitioners, registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, physicians assistants, and dentists. You also must work in a field dedicated to aesthetic enhancement procedures including plastic surgery, dermatology, and cosmetic dentistry.

Pay your deposit. Most courses require you to place a 50 percent deposit on the course upon application. The rest of your tuition will be due the day of the course. Courses range in price, costing anywhere from $1,200 to $4,000 or more.

    • 4

Complete a self-study course. Prior to beginning your hands-on training, you must complete a self-study course at home. Typically this program will last between four and six hours. Your home study program will consist of reading material as well as watching a DVD or CD series.

    • 5

Seek ongoing practice support. After completing your Botox certification courses, you should request at least one year of support for your practice. This will provide you with answers to any questions or concerns, and allow you the comfort of knowing that someone is there to guide you through the process of administering Botox injections.
