How to Write an Interview Thank-You Letter for Teachers
After going in for an interview with a school system for a teaching position, it is extremely important that you follow up with a thank-you letter to those who took the time to meet with you. Just a simple "thank you" could quite possibly tip the balance in your favor to secure the position. Employers like to know that you appreciated the attention they gave you as well as that you remain excited about the opportunity after your meeting at the school.

1
Write your thank-you note as soon as you return home from the interview. You want to keep your name fresh in the employer's mind and not let more than a day or two pass before he receives your thank-you letter.
-
2
Address the letter specifically to the interviewer. If there was more than one interviewer, be sure to write a separate letter to each person. It is possible you met with both a principal and a teacher. Your notes should be slightly different, as you may have discussed different things with each person. For example, you may thank the principal for explaining the details of the job, while you may thank the teacher for giving you insight into day-to-day classroom activities.

3
Reiterate any other specific information about yourself that will help to reinforce in the interviewer's mind who you are. Keep in mind that there were likely several candidates for the same teaching position, so it is important to ensure that the interviewer can connect your letter to you. This information could include a particular teaching experience you spoke of or a teaching strategy that you may have shared that is unique to your teaching style.
-
4
Keep your letter short. This letter isn't another opportunity to talk about your teaching skills but rather to let the interviewers know of your enthusiasm for the position as well as your appreciation for their time.
-
5
Let the interviewer know that you are looking forward to hearing from her and that you are available to answer any further questions. Include all of your contact information again to make it easier for the interviewer to reach you.
