How to Fix a Billiard Table Bumper That Is Pulling Loose From the Rail
Billiards is a game of skill that requires a perfectly level table and bumpers (or rails) that remain fastened in place. Over time, you may notice that the rails on your billiard table are starting to pull away from the sides of the table. If you do not make the proper repairs to your bumpers, your game will suffer because the cue ball will bounce off the sagging rails differently than the firmly secured rails. The repair is pretty easy: Essentially, the only thing you need to do is glue the bumper back to the side of the table.

1
Purchase a high-strength contact adhesive that can be applied with a medium-size paint brush. Rockwellbilliards.com suggests using 3M Scotch-Grip Contact Adhesive. Whichever adhesive you choose, ensure that it is air-drying and bonds rubber to other materials (such as wood).

2
Gently pull the billiard bumper away from the table. Be careful not to stretch the felt of the table too much during this process.

3
Brush the contact adhesive onto the back of the sagging billiard table bumper. Use only enough adhesive to spread a thin film over the back of the sagging billiard bumper.
-
4
Carefully press and hold the bumper back into its original position (firmly against the side of the table). Place a few bricks (being careful not to mark up the felt of the table) against the rail to hold it in place so that the adhesive can dry.
