1
Determine what type of work you want to do and where your skill is in demand. This will allow you to put your focus on the sector where you can find work more successfully. For example, if you also speak Mandarin, you may want to look for jobs in China where there is a need to translate Mandarin texts into English and vice versa. Looking for a job in English translation in India may be tough, since there are many local citizens who speak English and can fill those jobs.

2
Use a dedicated site for jobs in foreign countries. You may want to use websites that local citizens use, since these may contain listings from smaller businesses that have more demand for a part-time telecommuting workforce. A website such as Sweden.se has a forum where local and international citizens share links about jobs within Sweden. JobChina.net is an example of a dedicated site which lists jobs within the country and organizes them by region and sector.

Check U.S. sites that have international pages. Craigslist is one of the sites that people from all over the world use. The site is also organized in a way that makes it easy for you to search for part-time jobs. To do this, go to the Craigslist page of the country where you're seeking to work remotely, then under "Jobs," click "[Part Time]." Then, you can narrow down your search by typing keywords on the box. Check the "Telecommute" box at the top of the page, and click "Search." This will list the jobs available that match your criteria.

Contact the company or the recruiter who listed the ad. Before you send out your résumé to a person from a foreign country or to a company you are not familiar with, check the legitimacy of the site and listing. You may want to speak with the person on the phone and ask him more about the opportunity available. You can also check the company through sites like CorporateInformation.com, which lists profiles of international companies.

Use an aggregate site to open your options. If you welcome a broad range of positions, you can use an international aggregator site such as Monster International. You can choose a country to work in and select from the "Employers of Choice" listed at the bottom of the page. These employers are mostly multinational companies with offices based in a foreign country. You may find jobs easier this way since your American qualifications may be competitive for these positions.
