1
Choose some sewing thread that matches the color of your purse as closely as possible or some "invisible" thread, so you won't be able to see it. You could choose to go with a contrasting color to make it part of the design. Cut a piece of thread with your scissors about six inches in length and feed it through the eye of your sewing needle. Knot the thread
-
2
Lay your purse down on a flat surface. Tie the other end of the thread to the loop or jump ring on your letter charm. Position the letter charm on the surface of the purse in your chosen location.

3
Pull your sewing needle through the material on the surface of the purse where you want the charm to hang. Make sure you don't go all the way through to the other side of the purse--stitch through the surface material only. Pull the thread all the way through so that the charm is pulled against the surface.
-
4
Cross the thread over the loop or jump ring of the charm and go through the material with your needle again. Repeat this step at least five more times to ensure that the charm is securely attached to the purse. Finish by making a knot and cut the thread.
