Instructions

    • 1

Place towels of like color into the washing machine. Add 1 cup of white vinegar and an appropriate amount of laundry detergent to the washing machine. Adding vinegar to the initial wash cycle of new towels will set the fabric colors and keep them from fading.

    • 2

Set the washing machine to warm water and start the machine. Allow the washing machine to progress through the entire wash cycle.

    • 3

Remove the towels and shake them out gently.

    • 4

Place the towels directly into the dryer and dry them on a medium-low setting. Higher dryer heats may damage towel fibers over time so it is best to avoid high heat settings.

    • 5

Remove towels promptly when they are dry. Drying time will vary due to different thicknesses in towels, with thick towels taking longer to dry than thinner towels. Monitor the drying cycle so you can remove the towels when they finish drying. Shake the towels out as you remove them from the dryer and fold them neatly to put them away.

Tips & Warnings

  • Bleach white towels every third or fourth washing to keep them white and clean looking. Bleaching any more often than this may damage fabric fibers and reduce the life of your towels.

  • Consider alternating between line drying and drying towels in the dryer to keep your towels thick and fluffy. Less heat drying will prolong the life of bath towels.

  • Wash light colored towels and dark colored towels separately to avoid colors running.

  • Do not use fabric softeners with your towels. Over time, fabric softeners build up on the fibers of the fabrics and they will make the towels less absorbent.
