How to Mow Lawns in Dry Weather Conditions
Mowing the lawn during dry conditions causes grass to have recovery problems, according to LawnCare.net, so it's best to avoid mowing during these conditions. During extended dry periods, however, you may have to mow your grass. By using water, you can reduce the damage done to the grass. During long, dry periods, the grass won't grow fast, so you can get away with little mowing. Mowing early in the morning or in the evening helps keep moisture in the grass. It evaporates when mowed on hot days during the warmest parts. Does this Spark an idea?

Mow the lawn as you normally would after dew has dried in the morning. You can also mow just before sunset.

Screw the spray nozzle on the hose. Hook the hose up to an outdoor water spigot and turn on. Set the spray nozzle so it sprays a medium mist. If you have sprinklers, use those after mowing.
-
4
Spray the lawn with the hose. Wet the grass, but don't soak it.
-
5
Wet the lawn again at dusk or after the sun sets.

Water your grass with a hose or sprinklers every other night to keep the grass moist and healthier. If the dry period lasts over a month, water nightly.
