If the picture on your Toshiba projector TV has become dim and shadowy, you may not necessarily need to buy a new television. Over time, dust and grime can settle on the internal parts of a projector TV, reducing the quality of the screen's images. A quick cleaning of the mirror may be all that is required to once again see your favorite show in crystal-clear resplendence.

Things You'll Need

  • Projection TV
  • Screwdriver
  • Nonscratch cleaning cloth
  • Ammonia-free lens cleaner

Instructions

    • 1

Unplug the television and allow it to cool.

    • 2

Remove all the screws holding the Toshiba projector's back cover to the set. Make sure to unscrew and free the panel with audio and video connection jacks. Set the screws aside, making note of which holes they came from. Remove the entire back cover carefully.

    • 3

The mirror should be attached to the back cover. Use a clean, dry nonscratch cleaning cloth to wipe any dust from the mirror. If necessary, use a nonstreaking, ammonia-free lens cleaner to remove smudges or fingerprints.

    • 4

Replace the back cover and put all the screws back in their original holes.

Tips & Warnings

  • While the back of the television is open, take the opportunity to clean all the interior components.

  • Do not use ammonia-based cleaners. Ammonia can cause plastic parts to cloud.
