Sync your data on your mobile phone

If you have a mobile phone, the chances are you not only use it to make phone calls, but you probably use it to take photos, do text messaging and keep track of our schedule. Which means that if you lose it you will need to replace a lot of information. An easy way to keep that from happening is to simply sync your data with your laptop or PC.

Instructions

    • 1

Find a USB data sync kit. These are readily available at your local cell phone or computer store as well as online (see Resources).

    • 2

Install the software that came with the package. This will allow your phone to read and organize the data from your cell phone. Alternatively most cell phones have data management software that comes with the phone. If you lost your CD or never got it, go to your cell phone manufacturer's site and search for it under the "Help" section.

    • 3

Hook the cable to the bottom of your cell phone and the other end into the USB port on your computer.

    • 4

Turn your computer on and you will get a message "Found New Hardware." Click on "Have Disk" and navigate to your CD-ROM drive. Find the drivers for the CD and click "Install."

    • 5

Open up the software application by going to your "Start" menu and finding the program and clicking on it.

    • 6

Go to "File" and "Synchronize Data." You have now synchronized the data from your cell phone to your computer.
