How Do I Unlock My Kyocera Lingo Phone?

Unlock Your Cell Phone

You can lock your Kyocera Lingo phone to prevent other people from using it without your permission. You can also lock the keypad before you store it in a purse or briefcase to avoid "pocket dialing" where the phone dials a number on its own. When your Kyocera Lingo M1000 phone is locked, you are limited as to what you can do. You can still dial 911 or any other emergency number stored in your cell phone, call your cell phone provider to speak with a customer service agent or answer incoming calls. If you want to make calls to family or friends, listen to voice messages or read text messages sent to your phone, you will have to unlock the keypad.

Instructions

1. Slide the phone open so you have access to the QWERTY keypad.

2. Press the "OK" button so you can unlock the phone.

3. Enter the four-digit unlock code. The default unlock code is either 0000 or the last four digits of your phone number. Your cell phone provider sets the lock code.

4. Press "OK" again to submit the code.

Tips & Warnings

• You can change the lock code on your phone from the default setting. To change it, press the "Menu" button followed by "Settings" and then "Security." Type in the default code. Select the "New Lock Code" option. Using the keypad, type in another four-digit code. You'll need to reenter it for it to become active.
