How to Remove Collision Insurance
Collision insurance will allocate payment for repairs or to salvage your vehicle in the event that your auto becomes damaged in an accident. All collision insurance provisions carry a premium to be paid in whole or in partial payments. These costs may be deemed unnecessary if you have sold, transferred or stopped driving the vehicle. Customers may also want to remove collision insurance from their auto policy because there vehicle may be older and not worth the monthly bill.

Call your current insurance carrier. The phone number to customer service will be on your insurance card. You can also go to your insurance carrier's website and look up their contact information there. Notify them that you want to remove your collision insurance from your auto policy, or cancel your entire policy for a specific car(s) on a specified date. Your bill will be adjusted accordingly.

Call your insurance agent. If you got your insurance through an insurance agent, you may call them to change your policy options. Notify your agent that you want remove your collision insurance from your policy, or from a certain vehicle on your policy. The insurance agent will make the necessary changes. You may be required to come into your agent's office and sign a contract agreeing to these changes. Sometimes the changes will be mailed to you, and you may be required to agree to the changes by signing the document and then send it back to the insurance company or agent.

Go to your insurance carrier's website. Create or log in to your account and manage your policy. For example, if your insurance carrier is Farmers' Insurance. You can log in to your account, and select "Manage My Policy." Then select to remove your collision coverage.

Tips & Warnings
You may not be able to delete your collision coverage if your automobile has a lease or loan. There may also be other circumstances, such as an insurance contract, that may keep you from deleting your collision coverage from your policy during your policy period other specified time. Check with your bank or insurance company for further information.
