How to Make Decorative Canisters From Plastic Coffee Cans

Craft supplies can turn a coffee container into a new storage container.

Plastic coffee containers can be reused instead of thrown away. They can store a number of small things to keep a room or kitchen organized. The plastic coffee containers can also be decorated to match a particular color scheme. Craft paper can be used to make this old container look brand new.

Things You'll Need

• Craft paper
• Colored ribbon
• Buttons
• Liquid glue
• Scissors
• Hot glue gun

Instructions

1. Take the lid off the coffee can.

2. Measure the top of the coffee can to the bottom.

3. Cut your craft paper so that it matches the coffee can in width.

4. Spread liquid glue onto the back of the piece of craft paper.

5. Wrap the paper around the coffee can. If the paper isn't long enough to cover the entire can, use another sheet of paper, so that no part of the coffee can is showing.

6. Choose a color of ribbon that complements your craft paper.

7. Cut two pieces of ribbon long enough to go around the coffee can.

8. Use your hot glue gun to apply glue to the back of each piece of ribbon.

9. Wrap one ribbon around the top of the can, and wrap the other ribbon around the bottom of the can.

10. Apply glue from the hot glue gun to the backs of various sized buttons and place them all around the can.
