How to Get Ink Out of Dried Clothes

Ink stains on dried clothing are possible to remove.

Being able to get ink out of dried clothes can be the difference between keeping a piece of clothing and having to throw it away. There are a few things found in your home that you can use to get ink out of dried clothes. This not only saves you money on cleaning items, but on clothing as well. While ink is one of the more difficult stains to get out of dried clothing, it is not impossible.

Things You'll Need

• Milk
• Aerosol hairspray
• Rubbing alcohol
• Bucket
• 2 towels
• 2 sponges

Instructions

Milk

1. Fill a bucket with enough milk to cover your item of clothing. Soak it overnight.

2. Remove the piece of clothing from the bucket.

3. Wash it in cold water with your regular detergent.

Rubbing Alcohol

1. Lay out a towel on a flat surface.

2. Lay the clothing with the stain side up on top of the towel.

3. Pour some rubbing alcohol onto a sponge and dab at the stain carefully with the sponge. This will cause the ink to drain through the cloth and onto the towel. When it does so, move your clothing to a clean spot on the towel and repeat the process until all the ink has been removed.

4. Wash your clothing in cold water with your regular detergent.

Aerosol Hairspray

1. Lay a towel out on a flat surface. Lay your clothing on top of it with the stain side up.

2. Spray some hairspray on the stain.

3. Dab at the stain with a sponge. This will cause the ink to drain through your clothing and onto the towel. When the towel beneath has ink on it, move your clothing to a new clean spot and repeat the process until the ink stain is gone.

4. Wash your clothing in cold water and detergent.
