Diaper Cake Stroller Instructions

Be a hit at the next baby shower you attend with a diaper cake stroller.

Baby showers afford a special opportunity to celebrate the upcoming birth of a new family member. Mothers-to-be are often given gifts to help throughout the first year of the baby's life. These gifts might include diapers, bottles, teething toys, and clothes. By creating a diaper cake stroller, you can present your gifts to the mother in a unique and fun way. When choosing items for your diaper cake stroller, remember to pick items that all fit together. You'll want to choose items that match a theme, are in the same size category, or are for a specific purpose, such as baby travel needs or baby bedding.

Things You'll Need

• Gift box with lid
• Diapers
• Sheet set
• Small baby stuffed animal
• ¼-inch thick curling gift ribbon
• 3-inch cloth ribbon
• Baby outfit
• Teething toys
• Tape

Instructions

1. 

   Use a gift box.

   Place lid on the gift box. The lid should be perpendicular to the base. To secure the lid in place use the ¼-inch thick curling gift ribbon and tie it around the base and the lid.

2. 

   Roll the diapers up.

   Roll up four diapers. Use the ¼-inch thick curling gift ribbon to secure the rolls. Tie a bow with the ribbon around each end on each diaper. During this step you should have tied eight bows.

3. 

   Making a diaper cake isn't hard.

   Attach two of the rolled diapers to each end of the bottom of the gift box base with tape. These should appear as "wheels" on the diaper cake stroller.

4. 

   A gift bag can be useful.

   Place the leftover diapers in the bottom of the gift box. Alternatively, you can place the remaining diapers from the package you purchased for this project in a gift bag separately from the diaper cake stroller.

5. 

   You're almost done.

   Lay the sheet set on top of the diapers that are inside the box. At this point, the inside of the gift box should look like the inside of a baby's bed in that it is raised up and has bedding.

6. 

   Place your stuffed animal on the stroller bed.

   Place baby outfit on top of the sheet set in the gift box. Then place the baby stuffed animal at the top of the "stroller" bed.

7. 

   Insert the other toys on the side of the sheet set.

   Insert any teething or baby toys you have purchased along the sides of the sheet set between the fabric and the edge of the box. The toys should fit snug in the sides to help secure them in place.

8. 

   Wrap the ribbon around the base.

   Wrap the 3-inch cloth ribbon around the base and top of the box, lengthwise. Tie in a bow just above the baby stuffed animal. This will create a finished look for the diaper cake stroller.

Tips & Warnings

• Diaper cake strollers can include a multitude of items, such as bath toys, towels, and soaps for the baby.

• The best toys for this project are ones that come on plastic rings, as they will fit best along the sides of the box.

• You can fold a diaper and adhere googly eyes to it in place of the small stuffed animal.
