How to Build a Path With Concrete Molds
Decorative concrete paths can turn an otherwise dull entrance or walkway into something more interesting and pleasing to the eye. There are many styles from which to choose so that you can pick something the fits with the theme of your home. Build one of these designer concrete paths takes special molds and a little patience, but the results are worth it. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- Rubber gloves
- Shovel
- Bucket
- Wheelbarrow
- Dirt
- Sand
- Paver molds
- Water
- Cement

Decide on an area where you want the path and clear it of debris, grass and plants.

Make the path smooth by adding additional dirt to build it up past any tree roots or other obstacles.

Mix the cement or concrete and water in the wheelbarrow per the instructions.

Place the mold down at the beginning of the path and use the shovel to fill it with the concrete mixture. Make sure all corners are filled.

Put on gloves and spread the top of the concrete evenly and ensure that there are no holes or air bubbles.

Smooth the concrete with your gloved hand and remove extra concrete.

Let the mold sit for about five minutes and then remove the mold from the stones.

Rotate the mold so that the stones won't show a short repeated pattern and place the mold down next to the newly formed concrete stones. Repeat the process to the other end of the path.

Allow to dry overnight.

Spread sand over the new path and sweep into the cracks between the stones.

Pour water over the path or use a garden hose to wash off excess sand and set the sand between the stones.
