  • Paper towels
  • Prewash solution
  • Warm water
  • Washer

      Blot off any extra motor oil with a paper towel. Paper towels are absorbent and will help to draw the motor oil out of the fabric.

      Treat the affected area with prewash solution and warm water. Rub the prewash into the fabric for approximately three minutes and then rinse with warm water. Make sure that the prewash has a degreaser listed in the ingredients. Dish soap works wonderfully as a prewash, and has many degreasing ingredients.

      Wash the white garment according to the directions on the label. Do not wash with other white clothes to prevent the possibility of oil transferring onto them in the wash.

      Check the garment when done washing for any sign of motor oil. If the motor oil is gone, the garment can be dried according to the label directions. If the motor oil can still be seen on the garment, repeat the prewash and washing process before drying.
