How to Burn AVI Files to DVD Using Nero 7

Nero 7 is a collection of computer programs that, among other things, can burn any type of video computer file to a standard DVD. Nero 7 will take an .AVI video file, for example, and convert it into the proper MPEG-2 file format required for DVDs before actually burning the file to the disc in your computer's DVD burner. Once you've specified the .AVI file you're working with, the process only takes a couple of minutes.

Instructions

    • 1

Open Nero Burning ROM by clicking on "Start" and then "Programs" and then "Nero" and then "Nero Burning ROM."

    • 2

Click "File" and then "New." Select "DVD Video" from the list of options of types of DVDs that you can burn using Nero 7.

    • 3

Click on the .AVI file from its location on your computer and drag it into the main Nero Burning ROM program window. This will copy it into the program's memory.

    • 4

Locate your computer's DVD burner and insert into it a blank DVD.

    • 5

Click the "Burn" button in the Nero Burning ROM program window. Verify the burn project settings summary that you see before you. If you need to make a change to your settings, click "Back" and do so. If you need to make no such changes, click "Burn" again to burn the .AVI file to the DVD you provided your DVD burner.
