How to Clean & Polish Cloudy Glass

Glass items that have been soaked in the sink or washed in a dishwasher may appear cloudy after cleaning. One reason for this can be hard water. Changing your dish detergent may not remove the cloudy appearance from the glass items. Soaking the glass item in a common household liquid can remove the cloudiness and give the glass a polished look. Does this Spark an idea?

  • White vinegar
  • Paper towels
  • Bottled distilled water
  • Lint-free cloth

Instructions

      Soak a handful of paper towels in undiluted white vinegar.

      Stuff the towels inside the glass item. Make sure the soaked towels cover the entire interior of the glass. Soak more towels and stuff them inside the glass item if necessary.

      Soak another handful of paper towels in undiluted white vinegar.

      Wrap the soaked paper towels around the outside of the glass items. Soak more towels if the outside of the glass is not fully covered.

      Leave the towels inside and around the outside of the glasses for about two hours.

      Remove the towels and rinse the glass item with distilled water.

      Dry the glass item with a lint-free cloth. It should be clean and polished.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can also pour white vinegar into the glass item.
