How to Sign Up for the PlayStation Network on a PSP
The PlayStation Network is a free online service that allows you to play online-enabled PSP games like "Tekken," "SOCOM" and "Madden NFL." If you do not have a PlayStation 3, you will need to sign up for the PlayStation Network using your PlayStation Portable. Signing up for the PlayStation Network takes only a few minutes, and as long as you have a Wi-Fi connection you will be able to sign up for and use the PlayStation Network with no issues.

Power on the PSP and scroll all the way to right side of the XrossMediaBar (XMB) to the PlayStation Network icon. Then scroll down until the "Sign up for PlayStation Network" icon is highlighted. Press the "X" button.

Select "Sign up for a new account" from the new screen. You will need to enter your name, an email address, your birth date and a username/password into the PlayStation Network form to continue.

Press the "Next" button, and then sign in to the PlayStation Network for the first time. Once you have successfully signed in, your PSP will automatically access the PlayStation Network each time you play a game with online features.

Tips & Warnings
In addition to playing games over the PlayStation Network on the PSP, you can also purchase games and videos from the PlayStation Store. Go to the PlayStation Network icon on the PSP, and then select "PlayStation Store" to view content available for purchase.
