How to Make a Nice Resume
A resume is a vital tool for any jobseeker, and knowing how to make a nice resume can greatly improve your chances of securing an in-person interview. All resume's should include your contact information, career experience, educational achievements, and the unique talents that will make you more attractive to potential employers than your competitors in the workforce.

Building an Effective Resume
-
1
Pay attention to the details. Employers may judge the quality of your future performance by the attention to detail displayed in your resume. Spelling, punctuation, grammar, and even handwriting can serve to set you apart from your competition or immediately eliminate your candidacy. Take the time to ensure that your resume stands out from others' by showing a thorough attention to detail.
-
2
Keep it simple, and don't exceed one page if at all possible. Employers generally receive many resume submissions for each open position, and may not have the time to browse multi-page resumes that provide more detail than is necessary. Make the employer's job easier by presenting your qualifications in a succinct and easily flowing manner, including only the most relevant information. Remember that you will have time to expound on extraneous items and describe your achievements in greater detail in the in-person interview.

3
Utilize a conservative layout for your resume, but make it interesting. Make your resume visually appealing by choosing an appropriate template from a word processing program such as Microsoft Word or iWork Pages, and fill your information in the spaces provided. Don't go overboard with your resume layout, but make it appealing enough to give your potential employer the impression that you are conscientious about your creative efforts.
-
4
Describe your career experience in terms that will appeal to your potential new employer. Only include recent work experience that is relevant to the job you are seeking, if possible. Describe your career accomplishments from an employer's perspective; focus on the unique benefits that your accomplishments provided to your previous employers.
-
5
Include a uniquely tailored cover letter. A cover letter can be an excellent way to make a positive first impression immediately before your potential employer reads your resume. As with the previous step, stress the benefits that the employer can realize by adding you to their team rather than focusing on your wants, needs, or goals. Mention something specific about the employer or the position that has attracted your attention in the cover letter as well.
