How to Make an Electric Gun

Single-shot BB guns have become a standard crafts project for people looking to make a projectile firing weapon. Making an electric gun that can fire projectiles automatically by using electricity makes for a more unusual hobby project. You'll need an old vacuum cleaner that you can get cheaply from a thrift shop or yard sale and a few hardware tools to make your electric airsoft gun. Your electric gun will provide overwhelming firepower that will frighten off anyone who stands in your way.

Instructions

    • 1

Place the newspaper down on a table. Open the lid of the modeling clay container. Put the lid down on the newspaper.

    • 2

Empty the modeling clay from inside of the modeling clay container into the trash. Put the modeling clay container face down on the newspaper.

    • 3

Remove the nozzle from the vacuum cleaner socket. Place the end of the nozzle against the bottom of the modeling clay container. Draw a circle around the nozzle with the pencil.

    • 4

Cut out the circle, using the utility knife. Discard the cut plastic in the trash.

    • 5

Place the end of the nozzle into the cut-out circle of the nozzle. Apply hot glue around the nozzle to secure it to the modeling clay container. Let the glue set for at least five minutes.

    • 6

Cut out a small hole in the modeling clay container’s lid with the utility knife. Insert one end of the plastic straw into the hole. Apply hot glue around the plastic straw to secure it to the modeling clay container’s lid. Let the glue set for at least five minutes.

    • 7

Drop 15 to 20 BB pellets into the modeling clay container. Put the lid of the modeling clay container back onto the modeling clay container. Apply hot glue around the lid to secure it to the modeling clay container. Let the glue set for at least five minutes.

    • 8

Reattach the nozzle to the socket on the vacuum cleaner. Take the vacuum cleaner into the backyard. Plug the vacuum cleaner into a wall socket for power.

    • 9

Aim your electric gun at a tree or rock. Make sure nobody is in the line of fire. Turn on the vacuum cleaner and fire.

Tips & Warnings

  • Use a heavy-duty extension cord so that your electric airsoft gun can travel farther away from the electric socket it is plugged into.

  • Never aim any kind of gun you have made at any living thing--there is always the chance of the projectile causing harm.
