Instructions

    • 1

Lay out your bead on a bead board and experiment with different patterns and colors until you find something you are happy with. Designing the bracelet before you begin stringing will save you the trouble of having to restring a bracelet you are not happy with.

    • 2

String the beads onto the elastic cord in the pattern you have laid out on your bead board. You should have enough beads to make a strand the circumference of your wrist. Use a beading needle if you are having trouble getting the cord through the bead holes.

    • 3

Cut the elastic cord, leaving about 3 inches on either side of the beads for knotting.

    • 4

Tie a square knot by holding one end of the cord in each hand. Bring the end in your left hand over and around the right-hand side. Cross the cord in your right hand over the left and bring the end through the loop. Pull tight to secure the knot.

    • 5

Make a loop with both ends of the elastic cord and bring one end through the loop to form an overhand knot. Pull tight.

    • 6

Coat the knot with a thin layer of jewelry glue and hold in place for 60 seconds. Cut the remaining elastic cord near the knot and hide the knot beneath one of the beads.

Tips & Warnings

  • Use your plastic bracelets as anklets as well.
