How to Use a Neoprene Repair Kit
Neoprene is a rubber, waterproof material that is used in a variety of outdoor clothing, such as wetsuits and hip waders. The material is designed to repel water from the body. For this reason, it is important that any rips or tears in neoprene fabric are repaired immediately. Luckily, there are neoprene repair kits, which make the job extremely easy. Neoprene repair kits are sold at most swimming supply stores as well as at hunting and fishing stores. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions

1
Locate the hole in the neoprene fabric. If the hole is not in an obvious location, fill a sink or tub with water and submerge the item in the water. Lift one end of the fabric out of the water and wrap it around the end of a blowing vacuum and turn the vacuum on. Air bubbles will appear in the water at the location of the hole.
-
2
Allow the neoprene fabric to dry completely before continuing with the repair.
-
-
3
Locate the neoprene patch that comes with the repair kit and use scissors to cut it into a square that is approximately 1/4 inch larger than the hole. Lay the patch face-down on a flat surface.
-
4
Open the tube of adhesive supplied with the neoprene repair kit. Cover the entire back of the patch with the glue in a light, even layer. Use a cotton swab to make sure that the adhesive extends out to the very edges of the patch.
-
5
Pick up the patch by the edges and place it on the hole in the neoprene fabric. Press in on the patch with your fingers to secure it. The patch should be applied to the outside of the fabric, not the inside.
-
6
Allow the patch to sit and dry for the amount of time recommended on the tube of adhesive.

Tips & Warnings
Some neoprene adhesives must cure for a day or two before they can be used in water. Read the repair kit instructions carefully to see if this is the case with your kit.
