How to Make Lingerie Shower Invitations

Make the invitations for a lingerie shower instead of purchasing them from the store.

Lingerie parties are a common theme for bridal showers. Guests often buy the bride-to-be lingerie for her wedding night. To keep the theme alive, you can make your own lingerie shower invitations in the shape of lingerie. Instead of purchasing bridal shower invitations, you can make your own with inexpensive materials from your local craft store. Impress your guests with handmade invitations that will set the tone of the party.

Things You'll Need

• Cardstock
• Construction paper
• Pencil
• Ruler
• Scissors
• White computer paper
• Calligraphy pen
• Lace
• Leather print
• Ribbons bows
• Glue

Instructions

1. Use your preferred color of card stock or construction paper. Draw the outline of underwear onto the paper. Make a straight line measuring 6 inches across horizontally. Draw a 4-inch line down from each side of this horizontal line.

2. Draw a curved line off each of these lines in the shape of half of a circle. The curved line needs to point inwards because these will represent the leg holes. Connect the curved lines with another straight line for the bottom of the panties. Cut the outlined panties out with scissors.

3. Choose to handwrite the invitations or print them from your computer. You can print them on plain white computer paper, but make sure you print them off in the appropriate size. Print the invitation wording out no larger than 5 inches by 3 inches to allow for margins on the invitations. If you handwrite, the invitations use a calligraphy pen to make them look attractive.

4. Write an introduction line for the invitations. Begin the invites with "Please join us for a night of lingerie" or "You are invited to a lingerie bridal party."

5. Include all the other necessary details for the invitations. Make sure you include whom the lingerie party is for, and then include the other details like the date, time, location and RSVP details. Include any additional details for your guests like where the party honoree is registered, and what the guests need to bring.

6. Embellish the front of the invitation. Add lace, leather print or bows to make the panties appear like lingerie. Visit your local craft store for inexpensive craft materials. Attach the items with durable glue so that they do not easily fall off. If you are attaching fabric, use a fabric glue on the invitations.

Tips & Warnings

• Include a size guide with the invitations so guests will not have to inquire the bride-to-be about her size.
