How to Find Out What Type of Video Card I Have Installed in My Computer thumbnail
Video cards give computers the ability to process detailed graphics.

A video card is the component of your computer responsible for displaying all graphical images onscreen. While older computers did not have a dedicated video card, modern computers require it as graphics have become so advanced that they would quickly overload a processor, rendering the computer good for little else besides displaying images. Checking to see what model of video card you have can be accomplished using the tools in your operating system.

Instructions

    • 1

      Click "Start" and press "Run."

    • 2

Type in "msinfo32" and press "Enter."

    • 3

      Click on "Hardware Resources."

    • 4

Open the "Display" tab. Your video card information will be listed therein.
