How to Quickly Set Up a Mining Character in EVE Online
Mining provides the ores used to create every sort of vessel in the game "EVE Online," and so it is the cornerstone of EVE's economy. There are, however, plenty of options to confront after you decide to embark on a mining career. "Eve Online" players can spend weeks or months building up their characters. The fastest way to work up your mining character's credentials is to align yourself with the best mining vessels and equipment, and then figure out where the safest mining areas are for your new character.

1
Create a new character and choose Caldari as your race. Caldari are the best choice for a mining career because they have cruisers and frigates designed specifically for mining. This will allow you to get on your feet more quickly.
-
2
Complete the tutorial missions. These will provide you with more starting Interstellar Kredits (ISK), the currency in "EVE Online."
-
-
3
Acquire the Caldari Bantam class mining frigate, which costs around 23,500 ISK, and outfit this frigate with 2x Miners and the Mining Laser Upgrade.
-
4
Set your Caldari Frigate and Mining skills to train to the fourth level. Doing so will increase the yield you receive from your mining lasers. You should also put one point into the Mining Upgrades Skill. Once you have set skills to train to a certain level, the skills will train continually even when you are not playing.
-
5
Mine asteroids for ore in systems with security ratings close to 1.0. While systems with lower ratings typically contain more valuable ores, they are much more likely to have pirates you're not ready to fight.
-
6
Refine your ore before you sell it. People purchasing unrefined ores typically do so with the intention of refining the ores themselves and selling them at much higher prices. You can refine the ore yourself, which is not recommended until you have a refining skill of at least four, or you can join a corps and ask someone in the corps to refine it for you. The last thing you should do is right-click on your ore and sell it without reviewing the price you are selling it for. Also, consider stockpiling your ores before selling them. Large quantities of ore typically sell for more ISK.
-
7
Acquire an Osprey class cruiser as soon as you can. Like the Bantam frigate, the Osprey is also a mining ship, meaning that it provides a 20 percent bonus to yields when mining.
-
8
Outfit your Osprey with 3x T2 Miners and a tank to provide increased storage capacity. Fill as many of the remaining slots as you can with whatever mining upgrades you can afford.
-
9
Venture into less secure systems, including those systems with security ratings of around 0.6. Now that you have a well-armed cruiser you will be able to adequately defend yourself and start mining more profitable ores.
