How to Send a Fax From a Mac Computer
Sending a fax from your Macintosh is easy. Apple has built in the software necessary, so all you need to do is plug your phone line into your computer. Gone are the days of having to buy a printer and a fax machine just to get a fax out. By sending a fax directly from your computer, you are saving yourself the counter space, the wasted paper and the headache of configuring yet another machine.

In the "Print" dialog box, click on the "PDF" pop-up menu and choose "Fax PDF."

In the window that pops up, type the fax number in the "To" field. Or, if you have an address book established on your machine with fax numbers included, click the person icon to access your address book and select a name.

If you need to dial "9" to get an outside line, enter this in the "Dialing Prefix" field. If not, leave this field blank.

The cover page section is optional and doesn't need to be filled out for your fax to be sent. You will want to consider filling this section out, though, if you are sending a fax to a large office where you want to be sure a specific person receives your fax.

Use the preview button to view your fax as the receiver will see it, then click the "Fax" button.
