How to Delete History From My HP
Some users have no idea that deleting an item from the recycling bin usually isn't a permanent method of removal. The item can still be found in the computer's internal memory. Deleting history from an HP computer requires more than the basic process. Accessing the computer's internal storage folder is the most effective way to permanently delete history from the hard drive. This can be done by using the computer's Run command application to easily locate internal files where history items are stored.

Click "Start" on the taskbar, and clear the search bar at the bottom of the system menu list.

Type "Run" into the blank search bar, to locate the Run application. Click the "Run" icon that will appear in the system menu search results.

Enter the command "regedit," and click "OK." The Registry Editor will appear.

Locate the file folder path "HKEY_Current_User\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ Explorer\RunMRU\" in the Registry Editor. Several registries variations will be displayed in the right pane of the window.

Click the "MRU List" option in the right pane of the Registry Editor. Click "OK" to open the entry, delete the value and click "OK." This will remove the history items stored to the computer's internal memory.

Performing a system recovery can also delete the history from an HP computer. See your HP computer manual to conduct the specified system recovery process for your computer.
While system recovery is an effective way to delete history, be advised the system recovery action will delete everything, including all files, documents, and customized installed programs. Make sure you back up your system if you choose to delete history using this alternative.
