How to Replace a 2006 Ford 500 Fuel Filter thumbnail
The engine relies on clean fuel to run.

The fuel filter is responsible for filtering out any impurities in fuel. These impurities include heavy pieces of dirt and debris. Ford recommends that the fuel filter on the 2006 Ford 500 be changed every 30,000 miles. You can have a mechanic do it or you can do it yourself.

  • 1 Motorcraft Fuel Filter (part number FG-986-B) or other fuel filter
  • 1 fuel-line removal tool
  • 1 L-shaped wrench
  • Gloves
  • Safety goggles
