Talk about any relevant skills and certifications that will set you apart from other applicants.

Write a closing paragraph, and request an interview with the employer. Provide your phone number and email address and ask the employer to get back to you at its earliest convenience. Your main goal for the cover letter is to land an interview, so be direct and ask to be interviewed, summarizing in one or two sentences why you are a great candidate.

Edit and proofread your work. It's crucial to review your cover letter for proper grammar and spelling mistakes. Re-word sections that you think do not sound right. Have a friend or family member review your work for you. Even the smallest mistake can make you look bad in the eyes of a potential employer, so be sure to read through your final draft at least three times.
