How to Make a Corn Log Squirrel Feeder
Squirrels can be a delight to watch when they are feeding in your yard. Building a squirrel feeder is a way to attract them. It's easy to make a squirrel feeder out of a corn log (or cob). Squirrels love them and it's easy to hang the feeder from a tree or fence, providing a place for squirrels to sit and munch. Does this Spark an idea?

Cut your 3/4 inch piece of cedar into a 9-by-5-inch piece, using a hand saw or an electric saw. Cut one more piece of 5 by 5 inches.

Nail the small piece of wood at a 90-degree angle to the bottom of the long piece so that the pieces of wood resemble a shelf.

Hammer a long nail through the center of the short piece of wood so that the pointed end of the nail sticks up through the top. This nail should be 4 to 5 inches long. Hammer another 4- to 5-inch nail through the long piece of wood into the tree trunk.

Place an uncooked ear of corn onto the nail sticking out from the short piece of wood. The corn should be standing straight up.
